The extension of Metro Line 3 to
to Piraeus upgrades the network of track-based
modes of transport in the Attica Basin and creates new prospects for the
wider area of Piraeus.
According to various studies, an additional 132,000
citizens will travel by metro Line 3. The city of Piraeus will
experience a major traffic congestion relief, since it is estimated that 23,000
fewer cars will be on the road daily. And of course,
the environment is significantly protected,
since the reduction of cars on the road means a reduction in carbon dioxide emissions by 120 tons per day.
